This is a single lithium battery that replaces your entire set of lead-acid batteries. One box, everything included, fits in the same tray. Compatible with EZGO, Club Car, Yamaha, ICON, AdvancedEV, Polaris, and Bad Boy Buggy 48V carts. No reprogramming needed.
The battery is rated at 48V, the actual nominal voltage of this LiFePO4 pack is 51.2V. You will see both numbers used; they refer to the same battery.
Your lead-acid pack weighs between 300 and 500 pounds. This battery weighs 108 pounds. That weight difference comes off your cart immediately and you will feel it faster off the line, stronger up hills, and an estimated 30 to 45 miles of range on a single charge for a standard 2-passenger cart on flat terrain.
Charging takes 2 to 4 hours with the included charger, which shuts off by itself when full. You can also plug in after a short ride or between holes partial charging does not harm this battery at all. Heading away for the winter? Press the power button before you leave and the battery goes into storage mode on its own. It will lose only 1 to 3 percent of charge per month while you are gone.
No water to add. No acid. No corrosion. No overnight charging. Sealed for life.

Features
Relay BMS with integrated internal solenoid
The RS Series uses Allied's proprietary Relay BMS with a fully integrated internal solenoid. In previous generations, a separate external solenoid was required adding a component that needed to be mounted, wired, and maintained independently. The RS integrates the solenoid directly into the BMS, eliminating external components, reducing wiring complexity, and delivering consistent over-discharge protection through a single coordinated system.
Remote power button
The RS includes a Dual Power system with a second power button designed to mount outside the battery tray, behind the driver's legs near the charging port. This allows the battery to be powered on or off with a single button press, without lifting the seat or opening the battery compartment. The button mounts to the dash or console during installation using the included harness.
Dynamic sleep mode
When the cart is not in use, sleep mode protects the battery from over-discharge caused by accessories left on headlights, charging ports, or any device drawing from the system. When sleep mode is triggered, the Relay BMS disconnects all draw from the motor, controller, and accessories. This protects the battery during storage and preserves charge between uses.
Integrated 2-amp active cell balancer
The RS uses an integrated 2-amp active balancer that operates continuously during both charging and driving. Passive balancing systems, used in many lithium golf cart batteries, activate only during charging and can require weeks to correct cell voltage drift. The active balancer in the RS corrects cell imbalances in real time, which produces the following results:
- Cell balancing occurs 80 times faster than passive systems
- Every cell reaches the same voltage at full charge
- Range and performance remain consistent over time
- Cell stress is reduced, extending the usable life of the battery
Grade A EV-rated prismatic LiFePO4 cells
This battery uses Grade A EV-rated prismatic lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells. Some manufacturers use storage-grade cells rated at 100Ah that are not designed for the sustained discharge demands of electric vehicles. Storage cells produce lower real-world range and shorter service life in golf cart applications. The RS uses cells specified and tested for EV use.
Bluetooth mobile app
The Allied Battery app (free, iOS and Android) connects to the battery via Bluetooth and provides the following real-time data:
- Overall pack voltage
- Individual cell voltages
- Remaining charge percentage
- Estimated discharge time remaining
- Estimated time to full charge
- Current amp draw
- Cell temperature
- Lifetime power cycle count
Allied Battery's support team can use the app connection to diagnose issues remotely without requiring a dealer visit or battery shipment.
Contact us if you have any question.
CAN Bus and RS485 communication
The RS includes both CAN Bus and RS485 communication protocols. These allow the battery to communicate with compatible golf cart controllers, display screens, and fleet management systems. State of charge, cell voltage data, and diagnostic information can be accessed from controller-level displays on compatible carts.
IP66 weatherproof enclosure
The RS carries an IP66 ingress protection rating. This means the enclosure is fully sealed against dust and protected against powerful water jets from any direction. The case is constructed from SPCC steel and is designed to resist dents and punctures. Terminals are nickel-plated copper M8 type. All exterior hardware is stainless steel. The internal layout is configured to manage heat dissipation across the operating temperature range.
Fire Arrestor system
The Fire Arrestor (FST) is a passive safety feature built into the RS battery case. If the battery is exposed to extreme external heat or an external fire source, the system releases a proprietary chemical mixture inside the sealed case. The process removes oxygen from within the enclosure to protect the internal cell assembly. The system activates automatically and requires no user action.
High-amperage controller compatibility
The RS BMS supports 350 amps peak discharge (sustained for up to 10 seconds) and 600 amps instantaneous peak (up to 3 seconds). Golf cart batteries with a 200-amp peak limit can trigger protective shutdowns when paired with high-performance aftermarket controllers. The RS is compatible with Navitas, Teekon, and similar high-amperage controller setups.
Regenerative braking compatibility
The RS is compatible with regenerative braking systems, including the EZGO RXV. No additional resistor coil is required for regenerative braking operation.
Rated service life
The RS is rated for 3,500 or more charge cycles at normal operating conditions. Under typical use of one to two charge cycles per week, this corresponds to approximately 10 years of service. The battery is backed by an 8-year manufacturer warranty from Allied Battery, a U.S.-based company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, with over 30 years of experience in lithium battery technology.

FAQs
What is the difference between the Allied RS and the standard Allied commercial 48V 105Ah battery?
The RS (Relay Smart System) is Allied Battery's 2025-generation model. It adds three capabilities not found in the standard commercial battery: an integrated internal solenoid built directly into the Relay BMS, which removes the need for a separate external solenoid; a dash-mounted remote power button that allows the battery to be powered on or off without lifting the seat; and a 2-amp integrated active balancer that operates during both charging and driving, correcting cell imbalances 80 times faster than the passive system used in the standard model. Both versions include Grade A EV cells, the Bluetooth app, CAN Bus and RS485 protocols, dynamic sleep mode, and the 8-year manufacturer warranty.
Will this battery fit my specific cart?
The RS 48V 105Ah is compatible with EZGO (TXT, RXV, S4), Club Car (DS, Precedent, Tempo, Onward), Yamaha, ICON, AdvancedEV, Polaris, and Bad Boy Buggy in 48V configurations. Physical dimensions are 18.5 inches long by 11.5 inches wide by 10.1 inches tall. Club Car Precedent models from 2004 to 2008 may require minor battery tray modification before installation. Contact us before ordering to confirm fit for your specific year and model.
How long does installation take and can I do it myself?
Most owners complete the full conversion from lead-acid to lithium in under 30 minutes using basic hand tools, a socket set, wrenches, and a screwdriver. No controller reprogramming is required. Because the RS integrates the solenoid into the BMS, there is no external solenoid to mount or wire. The kit includes an installation guide. Allied Battery also operates a network of authorized dealers who can perform the installation if you prefer to have it done professionally. Contact us if you have more questions.
How far will my cart travel on a single charge?
A standard 2-passenger, non-lifted cart on flat terrain with a controller rated up to 250 amps typically achieves 30 to 45 miles per charge. A modified, lifted cart with a controller rated up to 400 amps typically achieves 20 to 35 miles. Highly modified 4- to 6-passenger carts with controllers up to 600 amps are outside the rated capacity of the 105Ah, the 168Ah option is appropriate for those carts. All figures are estimates and vary based on terrain, speed, passenger and cargo weight, and accessory load.
Can I charge the battery whenever I want, even if it is not fully discharged?
Yes. LiFePO4 lithium iron phosphate chemistry does not have a memory effect. The battery can be charged at any state of charge without reducing its capacity or service life. You can plug in after a short ride, between rounds of golf, or any time the cart is parked near a power outlet. Lead-acid batteries can be damaged by partial charging cycles. The RS is not affected by partial charging.
How long does a full charge take?
A full charge using the included 15-amp onboard lithium charger takes approximately 2 to 4 hours. The charger shuts off automatically when the battery reaches full capacity. A 30-amp charger, available separately, can reduce charging time. Lead-acid batteries in the same cart configuration typically require 8 to 10 hours for a full charge cycle.
I store my cart for several months each year. Will this battery hold up in storage?
Yes. In sleep mode, this battery loses 1 to 3 percent of its charge per month. Before leaving for an extended period, press the power button to activate sleep mode. The BMS will disconnect all draw from the motor, controller, and accessories automatically. The battery can safely remain in storage for up to 12 months under these conditions. Lead-acid batteries lose up to 33 percent of their charge per month when idle and can sustain permanent damage during extended storage without regular charging.
Is this battery rated for use in rain or wet conditions?
Yes. The RS carries an IP66 ingress protection rating. IP66 indicates the enclosure is fully sealed against dust and protected against powerful water jets from any direction. Normal rain, course conditions, and cart washing will not affect the enclosure.
Does it work with high-performance controllers such as Navitas or Teekon?
Yes. The RS BMS supports 350 amps peak discharge sustained for up to 10 seconds and 600 amps instantaneous peak for up to 3 seconds. Golf cart batteries with a 200-amp peak limit can trigger BMS protective shutdowns when paired with high-performance aftermarket controllers. The RS is designed to operate with Navitas, Teekon, and similar high-amperage controllers without triggering protective shutdowns under normal use.
Do I need a 12V converter for headlights, a horn, or other accessories?
Yes. A 12V step-down DC-to-DC converter is required for any 12V accessories, including headlights, horn, radio, or other 12V devices. Do not connect 12V accessories directly to the 48V battery terminals, as this will damage the accessories and may damage the battery. The converter is available as a separate add-on item in our store.
Can I charge the battery in cold weather?
The battery must not be charged in temperatures below 32 degrees F (0 degrees C). Charging below freezing can cause permanent cell damage. The battery can be driven and discharged in temperatures as low as 15 degrees F (-9 degrees C). If your cart is stored in an unheated space during winter months, allow the battery to warm to above-freezing temperature before beginning a charge cycle.
Can I connect two RS 105Ah batteries together for more range?
Yes. The RS 105Ah supports a maximum of 2 modules connected in parallel, producing a combined capacity of 210Ah. This is the only approved configuration for parallel connection. Do not connect more than 2 units in parallel, and do not connect the RS in series with other battery types or models.
Is the 8-year warranty transferable if I sell my cart?
No. The 8-year manufacturer warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable. To activate the warranty, the battery must be registered at AlliedLithium.com within 30 days of the purchase date. Batteries not registered within this period are not eligible for warranty coverage.
What does the Bluetooth app show and is it required for normal use?
The Allied Battery app is free and available for iOS and Android. It connects via Bluetooth and displays: overall pack voltage, individual cell voltages, remaining charge percentage, estimated discharge time remaining, estimated time to full charge, current amp draw, cell temperature, and lifetime power cycle count. The app is not required for normal operation of the battery. It provides diagnostic information for the owner and allows Allied Battery's support team to diagnose issues remotely when needed.
What is the Fire Arrestor and when does it activate?
The Fire Arrestor (FST) is a passive safety feature built into the RS battery case. If the battery is exposed to an extreme external heat source or an external fire, the system releases a proprietary chemical mixture inside the sealed case. The process removes oxygen from within the enclosure to protect the internal cell assembly from the external heat source. The system activates automatically and requires no action from the user.
Does this battery work with the EZGO RXV regenerative braking system?
Yes. The RS is compatible with the EZGO RXV regenerative braking system. No additional resistor coil is required. Some lithium batteries on the market require an additional resistor coil for regenerative braking compatibility, the RS does not.
Is any maintenance required after installation?
No. The RS is a fully sealed battery requiring no scheduled maintenance. There is no water to add, no acid to check, no corrosion to clean, and no equalization cycles required. The BMS manages cell-level protection automatically throughout the life of the battery. The only action required after purchase is registering the battery at AlliedLithium.com within 30 days to activate the 8-year warranty.
