The EcoBattery 51V 105Ah Thru-Hole Gen3 Bundle is built specifically to replace the original Samsung SDI Gen1 lithium system in 2017–2021 EZGO RXV ELiTE golf carts.

The factory Samsung Gen1 pack was a 60Ah system (two 30Ah batteries in series). This EcoBattery bundle replaces it with a single 105Ah LiFePO4 pack  roughly double the usable capacity along with the dedicated CAN charger, CAN SOC meter, DC-DC converter, charge port, mounting hardware, and the Factory Lithium Conversion Adapter that makes it all communicate with your cart's existing controller. This is not a generic lithium swap. The EZGO RXV ELiTE uses a CAN bus-dependent electrical system, which means a replacement battery must be able to communicate with the cart's controller or the cart simply won't operate. The EcoBattery Gen3 BMS firmware is configured specifically for this application that's what makes it a true drop-in replacement, not a workaround.

Why Upgrade

The Samsung Gen1 system was a solid first-generation factory lithium pack, but it has known limitations that become more noticeable as the battery ages or after it fails completely.

Common problems with the factory Samsung Gen1 pack:

• Range degradation over time. The original 60Ah pack loses capacity with each charge cycle. Owners who used to get a full round of golf on one charge start needing to plug in more frequently, then find the cart barely makes it around the neighborhood.
• Regen braking shutdowns. A known issue with the Gen1 BMS when the battery is near full charge and the cart is going downhill, the BMS cannot always accept the spike of regenerative braking current. The cart cuts out mid-drive. The only fix is to cycle the battery off and on. EcoBattery's Gen3 BMS handles regen input without shutting down.
• Deep discharge lock-out. If the Samsung pack drops too low  from sitting unused, a lost charger, or a failing cell it can brick itself. The cart loses all communication with the battery and refuses to operate. Replacing the full pack and restoring CAN bus communication is the correct fix.
• Limited capacity. The Gen1 system provides approximately 60Ah of usable energy. The EcoBattery Gen3 105Ah pack delivers 75% more usable capacity in the same installation footprint.
• Proprietary charger dependency. The factory Samsung charger is not compatible with aftermarket packs, and OEM replacements are expensive and increasingly hard to find.

About battery cables: This kit works with your cart's existing factory battery cables no additional cables are required to complete the installation. How to confirm you have a Samsung Gen1 system:

• Your cart is an EZGO RXV labeled "ELiTE" or "ELiTE Lithium"
• The battery compartment contains two separate battery modules (not one single pack)
• The battery modules are labeled Samsung SDI
• The original charger has a proprietary Samsung plug
• The cart has a digital SOC gauge on the dash (not a needle-style fuel gauge)

This kit is NOT for:

• EZGO RXV carts with standard lead-acid batteries (different bundle required)
• EZGO RXV ELiTE carts with the Samsung Gen2 system (2022 and newer)
• EZGO TXT models (different tray configuration)
• Club Car or Yamaha golf carts

Installation

This kit is designed for a clean installation without cutting, fabricating, or modifying the cart's existing wiring harness. The Factory Lithium Conversion Adapter plugs directly into the cart's OEM connector, and the Thru-Hole battery drops into the existing battery tray using the included center rod mounting hardware.

What the installation involves:

• Remove the failed Samsung Gen1 battery pack and original charger receptacle
• Install the EcoBattery Thru-Hole pack in the existing battery tray using the Universal Center Rod Kit
• Connect the Factory Lithium Conversion Adapter to the cart's OEM wiring harness connector
• Install the new EZGO RXV Quick Connect Charge Port
• Connect the DC-DC 12V Converter to power 12V accessories
• Mount the CAN LCD SOC Meter in the dash area
• Install the Remote Wake-Up Button in an accessible location
• Perform initial charge using the included CAN Charger

Battery cables: Your existing factory cables (4-gauge or 6-gauge depending on model year) are compatible with this installation no cable upgrade is required. Some installers choose to upgrade to 2-gauge cables as an optional improvement for reduced resistance, particularly on heavily used carts. Contact us if you'd like guidance on that.

First use wake-up procedure: LiFePO4 batteries ship in a sleep state for safe transport. Use the included Remote Button Battery Wake-Up Kit to wake the battery before initial charge. The quick-start guide included with the kit walks through this step.
