The Bolt Energy 48V 105Ah MINI Standard Kit is for golf cart owners who are ready to switch from lead-acid to lithium and whose cart's solenoid and main wiring are already in good working condition.
You get the battery, the charger, the Bluetooth monitoring system, the mounting hardware, and the AC hardwire port. Everything needed to drop the battery in, connect it, and go. What the Standard Kit does not include is the solenoid, the heavy-gauge installation cables, and the 30A DC reducer. If those components in your cart are sound, you do not need them again.
The battery itself is identical to the one in the Professional Kit, same 48V 105Ah LiFePO4 cell, (Nominal 51.2V), same 250A BMS, same IP66-rated steel case, same 10-year limited warranty. The difference between the two kits is what surrounds the battery at installation, not the battery itself.
Based on manufacturer testing, typical range is 30 to 50 miles per charge depending on terrain, load, and driving conditions. Charges in approximately 4 to 6 hours with the included waterproof charger.
Compatible with Club Car, E-Z-GO, Yamaha, ICON, and most other 48-volt golf cart brands. If you are not sure whether the Standard or Professional Kit is the right choice for your cart, contact us before ordering. We will help you figure it out.
Is the Standard Kit Right for Me?
The most common question buyers ask before choosing between the Standard and Professional Kit is: what do I actually need? This tab is here to answer that honestly.
Choose the Standard Kit if all of the following are true
- Your cart is running its original stock controller, no aftermarket controller upgrades
- Your cart's existing solenoid is in good working condition and less than 5 to 6 years old
- Your existing main battery cables are in good condition, no cracking, fraying, or corrosion on the ends
- Your cart does not have upgraded accessories that require a 12V step-down converter, or you already have a converter installed
- You are replacing a lithium battery with another lithium battery and the electrical system is already set up for it
- A qualified technician is completing the install and will assess the existing wiring before proceeding
Choose the Professional Kit instead if any of the following apply
- Your cart has an upgraded controller, Navitas, Alltrax, MadJax, Curtis high-amp, or any non-stock controller. An upgraded controller requires a matching high-amperage solenoid. This is not optional.
- You are converting from lead-acid to lithium for the first time
- Your solenoid is original and has never been replaced, or the cart is 6 or more years old
- Your existing battery cables show any signs of wear, corrosion, or undersized gauge
- You want to run 12V accessories (lights, fans, audio) and do not have a reducer already installed
- You want everything in one box so the install is straightforward from start to finish
Why does the solenoid matter, especially on modified carts?
Every amp that reaches your motor passes through the solenoid. On a stock cart, the original solenoid is rated to handle the modest current draw of the factory controller, typically 50 to 80 amps. When a cart has an upgraded controller, that controller is specifically designed to pull significantly more current, often 300 to 600 amps or more depending on the build. Running that through a stock or undersized solenoid will cause it to fail under load. It is not a gradual degradation, it will fail.
Even on an unmodified cart, lithium batteries deliver peak current faster than lead-acid. A solenoid that is already aged from years of lead-acid use can wear faster once lithium is installed. For a stock cart with a relatively recent solenoid in good condition, reusing it is generally acceptable. For any cart with a modified controller, solenoid replacement is a required part of the conversion, not an optional upgrade.

Features
Same Battery as the Professional Kit
The Standard Kit contains the same 48V 105Ah MINI LiFePO4 battery as the Professional Kit, nominal voltage 51.2V, same cell chemistry, same BMS rating, same enclosure, same warranty. The only difference between the two kits is the electrical hardware included for installation. The battery itself is not a lower-spec version.
No Maintenance Required
LiFePO4 chemistry requires no watering, no equalization charges, and no terminal cleaning. A periodic visual inspection is recommended, but there are no scheduled maintenance tasks after installation.
Consistent Power Through the Charge Cycle
Lithium iron phosphate batteries maintain a flatter discharge curve than lead-acid. Throttle response and performance stay more consistent as the pack depletes, rather than tapering noticeably as the battery approaches the lower end of its charge range.
250A BMS with Bluetooth Monitoring
The built-in Battery Management System is rated at 250A continuous discharge and 520A peak for 30 seconds, per manufacturer specifications. It monitors each cell in real time and protects against overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit, and high-temperature conditions. The included Bluetooth receiver connects the BMS to the Bolt Energy smartphone app for real-time charge level and battery health data.
IP66-Rated Waterproof Enclosure
The powder-coated steel case carries an IP66 protection rating, covering resistance to dust and high-pressure water exposure. Suitable for outdoor golf cart use including rain and wet-weather conditions.
Lighter Than a Lead-Acid Bank
The MINI weighs approximately 100.8 lbs (45.7 kg). A standard set of six 8-volt lead-acid batteries typically weighs between 350 and 450 lbs. Reducing that weight from the battery bay can improve cart handling and reduce long-term wear on tires and suspension components.
4 to 6 Hour Charge Time
A full charge from near-empty takes approximately 4 to 6 hours using the included waterproof charger, based on manufacturer data. Partial charges are safe and do not affect battery capacity or long-term lifespan.
12-Year Limited Warranty
Bolt Energy USA provides a 12-year limited warranty from the invoice or ship date. Coverage applies to manufacturing defects with repair or replacement as determined eligible under the warranty terms. Read Warranty Tab

FAQs
What is the difference between the Standard Kit and the Professional Kit?
The battery, charger, Bluetooth receiver, SOC meter, AC hardwire port, DECO cover plate, mounting hardware, ring terminals, tie straps, extension cord, decals, and owner's manual are identical in both kits.
The Professional Kit adds three components the Standard Kit does not include: two 40-inch 2AWG main installation cables, a 48V 400A solenoid, and a 30A DC voltage reducer. If your cart's existing solenoid and main cables are in good condition and you do not need a new reducer, the Standard Kit covers the installation. If you are converting from lead-acid for the first time, the Professional Kit is the more complete option.
Can I use my existing solenoid with this battery?
It depends entirely on whether your cart has a stock controller or an upgraded one.
If your cart has an upgraded controller, Navitas, Alltrax, MadJax, Curtis high-amp, or any non-stock aftermarket controller, the solenoid must be replaced as part of this installation. Upgraded controllers are designed to pull significantly more current than a stock controller, often 300 to 600 amps or more. Every amp going to the motor passes through the solenoid. A stock solenoid rated for 50 to 80 amps will fail under that load. This is not a precaution, it is a certainty. If your cart has an upgraded controller, choose the Professional Kit, which includes the 48V 400A solenoid required for the application.
If your cart is running its original stock controller, the existing solenoid may be reused if it is in good condition. As a general guide: if the solenoid is less than 5 to 6 years old and shows no signs of wear or degradation, it is typically acceptable to reuse it on a stock cart switching to lithium. If it is older or its condition is unclear, replacing it is the more reliable approach. If you are unsure, contact us with your cart details before ordering.
Can I use my existing battery cables?
You can reuse your existing main battery cables if they are in good physical condition, no cracking, fraying, corrosion at the terminals, or undersized gauge. For most standard 48V carts switching from a lead-acid bank to a single lithium pack, the existing main positive and negative cables are appropriate. If the cables are showing wear or are thinner than 4AWG, replacing them with 2AWG cable before installation is advisable. The Standard Kit includes ring terminal connectors for making clean connections to your existing cables.
Do I need a voltage reducer for my 12V accessories?
Yes, if your cart runs 12V accessories, lights, horn, fan, audio system, or anything that draws from a 12V source, you need a voltage reducer (also called a step-down converter) to bring the 48V battery output down to 12V. The Standard Kit does not include a reducer. If your cart already has a working reducer from a previous lithium installation, it can typically be reused. If you are converting from lead-acid for the first time and run 12V accessories, the Professional Kit includes the 30A reducer. A standalone reducer can also be purchased separately. Contact us for options.
Is this the right kit if I am converting from lead-acid for the first time?
In most first-time conversion situations, the Professional Kit is the more complete and appropriate choice. It includes the solenoid, cables, and reducer that a first-time conversion typically requires. The Standard Kit is better suited for cart owners who have already made the switch to lithium and are replacing their battery, or for buyers working with a technician who will assess the existing electrical system and confirm which components need to be replaced.
Will this fit my golf cart?
The MINI mounts using the included brackets and is compatible with a wide range of 48V carts. It measures 12.8 in. x 12.01 in. x 10.42 in. If your cart has a long, narrow battery tray, the THIN version of this kit may install more cleanly. Contact us with your year, make, and model if you have any fitment questions before ordering.
How far will it go on one charge?
Based on typical 48V golf cart use, the manufacturer estimates 30 to 50 miles per charge. Actual range depends on terrain, passenger and cargo weight, speed, temperature, and accessory draw. Flat routes with light loads tend to produce results toward the upper end. Hilly terrain, heavier passengers, or frequent fast acceleration will produce results toward the lower end.
How long does it take to charge?
Based on manufacturer data, a full charge from near-empty takes approximately 4 to 6 hours with the included waterproof charger. Partial charging is safe and does not affect battery capacity or lifespan over time.
Do I need to register the battery for the warranty?
Yes. The 10-year limited warranty requires registration on the Bolt Energy USA website within 30 days of purchase. Registration is straightforward and links the battery's serial number to your purchase date. Without registration, warranty coverage may not be activated. Contact us if you need help with the registration process after purchase.
Does it need any maintenance?
No. There is no watering, no equalization charging, and no terminal cleaning required. A periodic visual inspection of the battery and its connections is recommended, but there are no scheduled maintenance tasks.
Can I leave it on the charger overnight?
Yes, as long as the charger is the included Bolt Energy lithium-compatible charger, which stops automatically at full charge. Do not use a lead-acid charger with this battery. Avoid repeated overnight charging in extreme heat or cold for extended periods.
What does the BMS do?
The Battery Management System monitors voltage, temperature, and state of charge across all cells in real time. It protects the battery by cutting off power if it detects overcharging, over-discharging, a short circuit, or temperatures outside the safe operating range. It also balances individual cells over time to maintain even performance across the pack. Per manufacturer specifications, the MINI's BMS is rated for 250A continuous and 520A peak discharge.
Is it safe in rain or wet conditions?
Yes. The enclosure is rated IP66, covering protection against dust and high-pressure water exposure. The battery is appropriate for outdoor golf cart use in rain and wet terrain. Avoid submerging the unit or leaving terminals exposed to standing water.
What does the warranty cover?
Bolt Energy USA provides a 12-year limited warranty from the invoice or ship date covering manufacturing defects, with repair or replacement as determined eligible under the warranty terms. Read the Warranty tab for full details.
My cart model is not on the compatibility list. Can this still work?
Possibly. The list covers the most common 48V platforms but is not exhaustive. Contact us with your cart's year, make, and model and we will check fitment before you order.
