Can I use my old lead-acid charger?
No. Lead-acid chargers are not compatible with lithium and can damage the pack. Use the smart charger included in the kit. Charging with the approved charger is also a condition of the warranty.
How long does it take to charge?
A full charge takes about 6 hours at the recommended 8A charging rate. The battery accepts up to 50A, so a higher-output charger shortens that time. You can top it off after each use; there is no need to fully drain it first.
Can I leave it on the charger?
Yes. The smart charger and BMS stop the charge automatically when the pack is full, so the battery can stay connected between uses. For longer storage, see the storage question below.
How do I store the battery over winter or a long break?
Charge the pack to roughly 50 to 60 percent, then turn it off and disconnect it for storage. Avoid storing it fully discharged, and give it a top-up charge periodically. Following the storage guidance in the owner's manual keeps the warranty intact.
Can I use it in hot or cold weather?
The battery discharges in temperatures from -4°F to 131°F. Like all lithium iron phosphate batteries, charging in freezing temperatures should follow the manufacturer's cold-weather guidance; when in doubt, charge the battery where temperatures are above freezing. Can I add more range later?
Yes. This model is parallel connectable, up to eight units, so you can add capacity if your range needs grow. It cannot be connected in series.
How do I monitor the battery?
The kit includes a built-in Bluetooth module and a free Rhino app for iOS and Android, showing live state of charge, voltage, temperature, cycle history, and fault alerts. An LCD touchscreen is also included for a quick dash-mounted readout.
What does the warranty cover?
The battery carries an 8-year limited warranty: full repair or replacement including shipping for the first 6 years, then a flat $500 deductible in years 7 and 8.
