Need Help?

Our experts are here to help you find the lithium battery for your needs.

The Epoch V2-T is a 12-volt, 460 amp-hour LiFePO4 battery released in 2026 as the V2-T Elite Series. It delivers 5.89 kilowatt-hours of usable energy in a standard Group 8D footprint, the same space a single large AGM occupies, with a verified 4,000-cycle lifespan and an 11-year manufacturer warranty.

This battery is designed for boaters, RV owners, and off-grid power users who need reliable, high-capacity energy storage with a straightforward installation. It includes native Victron CAN-bus communication for automatic charge management across your entire Victron system, an internal heater rated to -22°F (-30°C), Bluetooth 4.0 monitoring from your phone, and a factory-integrated Eaton Class T fuse, no external fuse required.

V2-T vs. V2 - Important distinction:
This listing is for the C12460A-A (V2-T), the current production version released in 2026. It is not the same as the older C12460A (V2). The only difference between the two is the internal fuse. The V2-T integrates an Eaton Class T fuse (500A, 20kAIC at 160VDC) inside the IP67-sealed enclosure. No external source-protection fuse is needed. The V2 required one. Price is the same.

For Marine Use. Sailboats, Trawlers, and Power Boats

One V2-T provides the usable energy equivalent of approximately seven to eight Group 31 AGM batteries, at a fraction of the weight and in a fraction of the space. Boaters running Victron Multiplus or Quattro inverter/chargers can connect the battery directly to the Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX via CAN-bus. With DVCC enabled, the battery's BMS automatically manages charge parameters across all connected charge sources, shore power chargers, solar controllers, and DC-to-DC converters respond to the battery without manual voltage programming.

The integrated Eaton Class T fuse meets ABYC E-11 source-protection requirements directly from the factory. Professional installers no longer need to source and mount an external Class T fuse on each install. The fuse is user-serviceable and replaceable with a standard JJN-500 available from marine electrical suppliers.

The 500A peak discharge for 30 seconds handles bow thrusters, windlasses, and generator starting without pulling down navigation electronics. The IP67 rating handles the marine environment spray humidity, and incidental bilge moisture.

For RV Use. Boondocking and Full-Time Travel

A single 460Ah battery replaces the usable capacity of five 100Ah lithium batteries, or a 6-battery AGM bank running at 50% depth of discharge. Full-time boondockers and extended-stay campers report that a single unit handles inverter loads, residential refrigerators, induction cooktops, and overnight draws without watching the state of charge monitor.

The Bluetooth module is mounted in the external gauge panel (not inside the case), which improves Bluetooth range through RV cabinetry. Check voltage, cell balance, temperature, and state of charge from the Epoch Cloud app on any iOS or Android phone.

The self-heating system activates automatically at 41°F (5°C) during a charge event, warming the cells to 50°F (10°C) before charge current flows. This allows safe charging in winter camping conditions down to -22°F (-30°C). No manual switches or timers needed.

If your RV uses a non-Victron converter or charger: Set absorption voltage to 14.2V, absorption time to 15 minutes, float voltage to 13.5V, and disable equalization and temperature compensation. Many older RV converters labeled as "lithium compatible" output a constant 14.6V without a proper charge profile, verify your charger uses a true CC/CV profile before connecting.

For Off-Grid and Solar Storage

The verified continuous charge rating of 210A at 25°C (0.45C) supports high-input solar systems and allows a depleted battery to recover in approximately 2.2 hours at maximum charge current. Up to 16 batteries can be connected in parallel on a single Victron-managed system, providing up to 94.24kWh of storage. The UL1973 certification covers stationary energy storage applications, including residential backup and small commercial installations.

The battery can be mounted in any orientation, including on its side, because LiFePO4 chemistry uses a solid-state electrolyte with no liquid to leak.

Features

Eaton Class T Fuse - Factory Installed

The V2-T integrates an Eaton JJN-500 Class T fuse rated at 500A with a 20,000A interrupting capacity at 160VDC, inside the IP67-sealed enclosure. This is the same fuse type that ABYC E-11 recommends for battery source protection in marine DC systems. It eliminates the need for an external source-protection fuse, shortens unfused conductor runs, and simplifies installation for both professional installers and self-installers. The fuse is user-serviceable and replaceable without tools.

Native Victron CAN-Bus Communication - Plug and Play

The battery communicates directly with Victron GX devices (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, Cerbo MK2) over CAN-bus at 500 kbit/s. Once connected and DVCC is enabled, the battery's BMS controls charge behavior across all connected Victron devices, inverter/chargers, MPPT solar controllers, and DC-to-DC chargers all respond automatically. Real-time data visible in the GX device includes state of charge, voltage, current, temperature, and charge/discharge limits. In most installations this also eliminates the need for a separate battery shunt (SmartShunt or BMV-712).

IP67 Waterproof and Dustproof Enclosure

Rated IP67, sealed against dust ingress and submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. Suitable for marine bilge-adjacent placement, outdoor off-grid enclosures, and RV battery compartments exposed to road spray.

Internal Self-Heating System

Charging LiFePO4 cells below freezing causes permanent cell damage. The V2-T includes an internal heater that activates automatically when cell temperature drops to 41°F (5°C) during a charge event, drawing approximately 180W to warm the cells to 50°F (10°C) before charge current is allowed to flow. Rated for charging down to -22°F (-30°C) with self-heating active. The heater does not activate during discharge.

Bluetooth 4.0 - Epoch Cloud App

The Bluetooth module is mounted in the external gauge panel for improved range through cabinetry and hull material. The Epoch Cloud app (iOS and Android, free) displays real-time voltage, state of charge, individual cell voltages, current, and temperature. In a parallel bank of up to 16 batteries, the app shows whole-bank data and individual battery detail from a single dashboard. Firmware updates for the BMS and EMS are delivered over the air through the app.

Advanced Battery Management System (BMS)

The integrated BMS monitors all cells continuously and provides automatic protection for:

  • Overcharge and over-discharge
  • Overcurrent and short circuit
  • High temperature disconnect (55°C / 131°F)
  • Low temperature disconnect (0°C / 32°F for charging; -20°C / -4°F for discharging)
  • Cell imbalance, active balancing during charge cycles

Scalable Parallel Configuration

Up to 16 batteries can be connected in parallel on a single system using the RJ45 daisy-chain communication harness. Total maximum capacity: 7,360Ah / 94.24kWh at 12.8V. The system is expandable, purchase one battery to start and add more over time without replacing existing units.

High Peak Discharge - Thruster and Generator Capable

Continuous discharge is rated at 230A. Peak discharge capacity reaches 500A for 30 seconds and 1,300A for 1 second. This supports motor-inrush loads including bow thrusters, hydraulic windlasses, generator starting, electric winches, and high-draw inverters.

Replacing an Existing AGM Bank?

One 460Ah V2-T replaces the usable capacity of approximately seven to eight Group 31 AGM batteries. AGM batteries are typically run to 50% depth of discharge to preserve lifespan, giving 100Ah usable per Group 31 unit. LiFePO4 delivers close to 100% of rated capacity, so 460Ah usable is achievable from a single V2-T. Verify that your existing battery cables, bus bars, and fusing are rated for the current demands of your load before completing the swap.

Setup Guide

Victron System Setup. Step by Step

The following steps apply to installations using a Victron Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, or Cerbo MK2 with DVCC. Follow in order before powering up the system.

Step 1) Wire the communication harness (for parallel banks):

  • Plug the waterproof bung into the master battery's blue port
  • Run an RJ45 cable from the master's black port into slave 1's blue port
  • Continue daisy-chaining: each battery's black port connects to the next battery's blue port
  • For a single battery, simply plug the bung into the blue port and leave the black port empty
  • Set DIP switches on each battery per the positions shown in the user manual

Step 2) Connect to your GX device:

  • Cerbo GX / Ekrano GX: plug the included grey RJ45 cable into the BMS-CAN port
  • Cerbo MK2: plug into VE-CAN 1 or VE-CAN 2 and set that port speed to 500 kbps LV

Step 3) Configure the GX device:

  • Go to Device List, confirm the Epoch battery appears
  • Click the battery line, then Detail, verify modules online = number of batteries installed and total Ah matches your bank size
  • Enable DVCC
  • Set Controlling BMS → Epoch
  • Set Battery Monitor → Epoch
  • The inverter tile should display "External Control" during charging (not during inverting)

Step 4) Verify automatic charge parameters:

With DVCC active and Epoch set as the controlling BMS, the system automatically manages absorption at 14.2V for approximately 15 minutes per battery, followed by float at 13.5V. No additional programming is required.

Recommended backup programming: Also manually program your Multiplus, Quattro, and all other charge sources to 14.2V absorption / 13.5V float. This provides a safe fallback in the event of CAN-bus communication loss.

Non-Victron Charger Settings

For Magnum, Xantrex, Progressive Dynamics, Aims, Renogy, and other charge sources:

Parameter Setting
Charge Profile LiFePO4 or Custom CC/CV
Absorption Voltage 14.2V
Absorption Time 15 minutes per battery in the bank
Float Voltage 13.5V
Equalization OFF, do not enable
Temperature Compensation DISABLED

Many older RV converters labeled as "lithium ready" output a constant 14.6V without a proper timed absorption or float profile. This is not a correct LiFePO4 charge profile. Verify that your charger follows a true CC/CV profile before connecting to this battery.

Mounting Notes

  • The battery may be mounted in any orientation, including on its side. LiFePO4 cells use no liquid electrolyte.
  • At 97 lbs, use a hand truck or two-person lift. Plan your final mounting position before moving the battery into the space.
  • Install in a location with adequate ventilation. While LiFePO4 does not off-gas under normal operation, good airflow protects against heat buildup during sustained high-current use.
  • For marine installations, route cables to keep unfused conductor runs as short as possible. The Class T fuse is inside the battery — the terminals are already protected.

FAQs

The only difference is the internal fuse. The V2-T integrates an Eaton Class T fuse (model JJN-500, rated 500A with a 20,000A interrupting capacity at 160VDC) inside the IP67 enclosure before the battery terminals. The older V2 used an internal thermal fuse rated at 400A, which required a separate external Class T fuse to meet ABYC E-11 source-protection requirements. With the V2-T, no external source-protection fuse is needed, it is already inside the battery. The fuse is also user-serviceable on the V2-T. All other specifications, including capacity, weight, price, warranty, and Victron integration, are identical between the two.

Yes. The V2-T communicates natively over CAN-bus at 500 kbit/s with Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, and Cerbo MK2 devices. It appears as a recognized Epoch battery in the GX device list and reports state of charge, voltage, current, temperature, and charge/discharge limits in real time. With DVCC enabled and Epoch set as the controlling BMS, all connected Victron charge sources inverter/chargers, MPPT solar controllers, and DC-to-DC converters  are managed automatically. On the Cerbo MK2, use VE-CAN 1 or VE-CAN 2 and set the port speed to 500 kbps LV.

No. The Eaton JJN-500 Class T fuse is factory-installed inside the battery enclosure, before the positive terminal. Your battery cables are protected from the moment they connect to the terminals. You do not need to source or install a separate external Class T fuse. If the fuse ever blows, it is user-replaceable with a standard JJN-500 available from Blue Sea Systems, West Marine, and marine electrical distributors.

In usable energy terms, one 460Ah V2-T replaces approximately seven to eight Group 31 AGM batteries, or four to five 100Ah lithium batteries. AGM batteries are typically discharged to only 50% of rated capacity to preserve their lifespan, so a 100Ah AGM delivers about 50Ah usable. LiFePO4 delivers close to 100% of rated capacity, meaning the full 460Ah is available without harming the battery. Many RV owners find that one V2-T replaces a 4-to-6 battery AGM bank that took up significantly more space and weight.

Yes. The 230A continuous discharge rating supports sustained inverter loads up to approximately 2,500W at 12V. A typical 15,000 BTU RV air conditioner draws around 1,500W running and 3,000–4,500W at startup. A single 460Ah battery can handle the startup surge (500A peak for 30 seconds) and run the unit once it stabilizes. For sustained AC use over multiple hours, two batteries in parallel (920Ah, 460A continuous) is recommended for comfortable headroom. An induction cooktop drawing 1,800W runs well within a single battery's continuous rating.

The internal heater activates automatically when cell temperature drops to 41°F (5°C) during a charge event. It draws approximately 180W to warm the cells to 50°F (10°C), then shuts off and allows charge current to flow normally. The heater activates only during charging, it does not run during discharge. If the battery temperature drops below 32°F (0°C) and the heater cannot keep up, the BMS will stop accepting charge current to prevent cell damage. Discharge remains available down to -4°F (-20°C) without the heater. The heater is powered by the incoming charge current, so it does not draw from the battery's own stored energy during normal operation.

Yes. The battery works with any charger or inverter configured to a LiFePO4 charge profile. Set your charger to: absorption voltage 14.2V, absorption time 15 minutes per battery, float voltage 13.5V, equalization off, and temperature compensation disabled. The Victron CAN-bus integration is an advanced optional feature for managed charge control, it is not required for normal operation. Without Victron communication, the battery's internal BMS still provides full overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, and temperature protection.

Yes. LiFePO4 batteries use a solid-state electrolyte, there is no liquid to leak or spill regardless of orientation. The V2-T can be installed upright, on either side, or in any orientation required by your installation. Secure the battery to prevent movement, especially in marine and RV applications where vibration and motion are constant.

Up to 16 batteries can be connected in parallel on a single managed system using the RJ45 daisy-chain communication harness included with each battery. At 16 units, total capacity is 7,360Ah / 94.24kWh at 12.8V. With Victron DVCC, all 16 batteries are managed as a unified bank. You can start with one battery and add more over time, each additional battery is simply daisy-chained into the communication network and recognized automatically.

Yes. The 1,300A peak discharge for 1 second and 500A for 30 seconds provide sufficient cranking current for most diesel and gas generators as well as marine engines in appropriate configurations. Many boaters and RV owners use the V2-T as a combined house and start battery. If your application requires a dedicated start battery in parallel, confirm that your battery combiner or isolator is rated for LiFePO4 chemistry and the current levels involved.

In most installations, yes. The battery's internal shunt reports state of charge, voltage, current, and temperature directly to your Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX via CAN-bus with DVCC active. Many installers omit the external shunt entirely in V2-T builds. However, some experienced Victron users choose to retain an external shunt as an independent cross-reference for SOC accuracy validation, particularly in large banks where precise tracking is critical. This is a matter of preference rather than a requirement.

The correct continuous charge rating is 210A at 25°C ambient. This figure comes from Epoch's official Technical Bulletin for the C12460A-A, which supersedes any earlier manufacturer documents or third-party retailer listings. The 210A rating was established through multi-day thermal equilibrium testing, more than 4 days of continuous cycling, not a brief bench test. The continuous discharge rating remains 230A. If you see 230A listed for continuous charge on other sites, that reflects an outdated specification.

The V2-T weighs 97 lbs (44 kg). The battery includes integrated carry handles. Most customers find a hand truck or two-person lift is practical for maneuvering the battery into a battery compartment, especially in confined spaces on a boat or in an RV battery bay. Plan the final installation position before moving the battery into the space, repositioning a 97-lb battery in a tight compartment after the fact is difficult.

Epoch's 11-year manufacturer warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions. Register your battery at epochbatteries.com after purchase to activate the warranty. Contact Epoch support at support@epochbatteries.com or contact us at sales@lithiumbatterysupply.com

Not necessarily. Many older RV converters with a "lithium" preset simply output a constant 14.6V indefinitely, this is not a proper LiFePO4 charge profile. A correct profile applies a timed absorption phase at 14.2V (approximately 15 minutes) followed by a float phase at 13.5V. Holding 14.6V continuously on a LiFePO4 battery can stress the cells over time. Check your converter's documentation or contact the manufacturer to confirm it produces a true CC/CV profile with timed absorption and a lower float voltage before using it with this battery.
