The Bolt Energy 73.6V 105Ah Heated lithium battery is a direct-fit conversion kit for the Moke America electric vehicle. It replaces the original lead-acid pack with a single 137-lb LiFePO4 battery, freeing up cargo space, dropping over 200 lbs of vehicle weight, and delivering steady voltage from full charge to cut-off.

The heated version uses an internal warming system that allows the pack to charge safely in unheated garages, barns, and outdoor storage useful for owners in northern climates or anyone who leaves the cart outside year-round.

This kit is engineered for a clean install: no software reprogramming of the cart's controller is required. The installation is fully mechanical disconnect the old charger leads, bypass the interlock, route the new cables, and drive.

Heated Battery Performance

The heating system runs only when the charger is plugged in and the internal battery temperature is below the charging threshold. Once the pack reaches approximately 34°F, it transitions automatically into a normal charge cycle. The heater shuts off on its own when the pack reaches the correct temperature.

When to choose heated: If your Moke is stored outdoors, in an unheated garage, in a barn, or anywhere temperatures drop below 32°F, the heated version is the right choice. Lithium batteries cannot accept charge below freezing, and the heated pack solves that automatically. If your Moke is stored in a climate-controlled space year-round, the standard version is sufficient.

This kit is designed for the Moke America EV electric vehicle. Both factory configurations are supported:

No Software Reprogramming Required

The official Bolt Energy installation procedure for the Moke EV is fully mechanical:

  • Remove the old lead-acid pack and existing charger
  • Expose the controller to access the original charger leads
  • Disconnect the old charger leads from the controller
  • Modify and reconnect the interlock wires to bypass the original interlock circuit
  • Route the new battery and charger cables
  • Mount the new pack and connect
