Need Help?

Our experts are here to help you find the lithium battery for your needs.

The Monster Marine Lithium Goliath (model MML-CW24100JB) is a 24V 100Ah LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) deep-cycle marine battery built in a Group 31 case, designed to power 24-volt trolling motors from a single drop-in battery. It replaces the two 12V lead-acid or AGM batteries normally wired in series for a 24V system, so you get a full 24-volt setup from one unit instead of two.

For anglers, that means less weight in the boat, more usable space, and steadier power through the day. Lithium iron phosphate holds a consistent voltage as it discharges, so your motor keeps its thrust deep into the charge instead of fading in the afternoon the way a lead-acid battery does. At 42 pounds, one Goliath is easy to move in and out of the boat by hand.

Built-in Bluetooth lets you check charge level, voltage, and real-time current draw from your phone through the Monster Marine app, so you always know how much run time is left. With 100Ah of capacity, 2,560 watt-hours of energy, and a rated 4,000+ charge cycles, the Goliath is made for full days on the water and years of seasons. If you need more capacity, two units connect in parallel for 200Ah while staying at 24 volts.

It is a straightforward fit for bass boats, bay and flats boats, aluminum boats, and other rigs running a 24V trolling motor.

Key Features

  • Single 24V drop-in battery: Delivers a full 24-volt system from one unit and removes the series wiring of two 12V batteries. Simpler installation and fewer connections to maintain.

  • Group 31 footprint: Fits standard Group 31 battery trays. Drops into most existing 24V setups without new brackets or modifications.

  • LiFePO4 chemistry: Lithium iron phosphate holds steady voltage under load and is rated for 4,000+ cycles, so your motor keeps consistent thrust and the battery lasts through many seasons.

  • Bluetooth smart monitoring: View voltage, state of charge, and live current draw in the Monster Marine app. You can see how hard the motor is pulling and estimate remaining run time from your phone.

  • Lightweight build: At 42 lb it weighs far less than the pair of lead-acid batteries it replaces, cutting overall boat weight and making handling easier.

  • Expandable capacity: Connect two Goliath batteries in parallel (positive to positive, negative to negative) to reach 200Ah while remaining a 24V system.

  • Built-in Battery Management System (BMS): Manages the cells and protects against over-charge, over-discharge, and short circuit for safer, maintenance-free operation.

  • M8 stainless terminals: Corrosion-resistant terminals suited to the marine environment.

Applications & Compatibility

The Goliath is a dedicated 24-volt trolling motor and deep-cycle marine battery. It is designed for boats running a 24V trolling motor and is a direct replacement for two 12V SLA or AGM marine batteries wired in series.

Recommended for:

  • 24V trolling motors as the primary power source
  • Bass boats
  • Bay and flats boats
  • Aluminum jon and V-hull boats
  • Larger kayaks and small craft running a 24V motor
  • Replacing (2) 12V lead-acid or AGM batteries in an existing 24V system

Compatible trolling motor brands:

  • Minn Kota
  • Garmin
  • Lowrance
  • Rhodan
  • All 24V trolling motors

The battery's 100A maximum continuous discharge covers the current draw of common 24V trolling motors, including higher-thrust models, since most 24V motors draw well under 100A even at full speed. For 36V motors, use a 36V battery instead.

FAQs

What is the Monster Marine Goliath 24V 100Ah battery?

It is a single 24V 100Ah LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) deep-cycle marine battery, model MML-CW24100JB, built in a Group 31 case. It provides a full 24-volt system from one unit and replaces the two 12V lead-acid or AGM batteries usually wired together for a 24V trolling motor.

Do I need to wire two batteries together for my 24V trolling motor?

No. The Goliath is already a 24-volt battery, so you connect your trolling motor leads directly to its terminals. There is no need to wire two 12V batteries in series for a 24V setup.

Which trolling motors is it compatible with?

It works with 24V trolling motors, including Minn Kota, Garmin, Lowrance, and Rhodan models. For a 36V motor, use a 36V battery instead.

How long will it run my trolling motor?

Run time depends on your motor's thrust, the speed setting, and conditions on the water. Most anglers spend much of the day at lower speeds, which draws far less current and extends run time considerably; running wide open at full throttle draws the most current and shortens it. The Bluetooth app shows your live current draw, which is the most accurate way to estimate remaining run time for your setup.

Can I connect two Goliath batteries for more capacity?

Yes. Connect two units in parallel — positive to positive and negative to negative — to reach 200Ah while staying at 24 volts. Do not wire two 24V batteries in series, as that would create a 48V system and can damage a 24V motor.

What charger do I need?

Use a 24V charger designed for lithium (LiFePO4) batteries, with a charge voltage around 29.2V and an output within the battery's 50A maximum charge current. A lithium-specific charger uses the correct charging profile for this battery.

Can I use my existing lead-acid or AGM charger?

A lead-acid or AGM charger is not recommended. Those chargers use a different charging profile than LiFePO4 batteries, which can lead to incomplete charging or trip the battery's protection. Use a 24V lithium-compatible charger.

How does the Bluetooth monitoring work?

The battery pairs with the Monster Marine app on your smartphone. You can view voltage, state of charge, and real-time current draw, so you can monitor how much power the motor is using and how much charge remains.

What is the battery's energy in watt-hours and kWh?

The Goliath stores 2,560 watt-hours of energy, which is 2.56 kWh (25.6V nominal × 100Ah).

Will it fit my existing battery tray?

It uses a Group 31 footprint (13 in × 6.77 in × 9.66 in), so it drops into standard Group 31 trays used in most 24V setups. Confirm your tray size and available height before ordering.

How much does it weigh compared with my old batteries?

The Goliath weighs 42 lb and replaces two 12V lead-acid or AGM batteries, which together typically weigh far more. The single-battery design also reduces the weight you carry in and out of the boat.

Can I use it in cold weather?

Like all lithium iron phosphate batteries, the Goliath discharges well in cool conditions, but LiFePO4 batteries should not be charged below freezing (32°F / 0°C), as doing so can permanently damage the cells. Allow the battery to warm above freezing before charging. If you regularly operate in freezing temperatures, confirm the battery's low-temperature protection details on the product label or with Monster Marine before charging in the cold.

Is it a deep-cycle battery?

Yes. It is a LiFePO4 deep-cycle battery rated for 4,000+ charge cycles, designed to be discharged and recharged repeatedly for trolling motor use.

Is the Goliath a good choice for a 24V trolling motor setup?

It is a strong fit for anglers who want a single 24V battery rather than two 12V units. Its Group 31 drop-in size, LiFePO4 chemistry with 4,000+ cycles, built-in Bluetooth monitoring, and 15-year tiered warranty make it well suited to serious trolling motor use. The best capacity for you depends on your motor's thrust and how long you fish; two units in parallel are available if you need 200Ah.
