This 48V server rack lithium battery mounts in a standard 3U server rack enclosure and communicates directly with a wide range of solar inverters via CAN or RS485. Self-Heating Function for Cold Weather Installations
The defining feature of the SR48100H is its integrated self-heating system, which makes it a practical cold weather lithium battery for installations in unheated garages, outbuildings, shops, and northern climates. Standard LiFePO4 batteries cannot be safely charged below 0°C. This self-heating server rack battery solves that limitation by automatically warming its cells before charging begins.
When the battery's internal temperature drops between -25°C and 5°C and a charge source is connected with at least 0.08C of current, the internal heating pad activates without any manual input. The battery heats itself to 12°C before charging starts, protecting the cells from cold-weather degradation. Discharge is rated to -20°C, so the battery continues to supply power even in cold conditions.
When multiple SR48100H units are connected in parallel, all units enter heating mode together whenever any one unit reaches the heating trigger condition. Heating stops across all units once all have reached 12°C.
5.12kWh Lithium Battery. Scalable Home Solar Battery Storage
Each SR48100H delivers 5.12kWh of nominal energy (4.92kWh usable at 0.2C rate). For residential solar backup, two units provide approximately 10kWh a practical starting capacity for overnight essential loads. As energy needs grow, additional units can be connected in parallel up to a maximum of 32 units, creating a home solar battery storage bank of over 160kWh from a single battery model.
This scalability makes the SR48100H a practical choice for homeowners who want to start small and expand their off-grid lithium battery bank over time without replacing existing equipment. Each unit added uses the same plug-and-play wiring and communication protocol, so there is no need to reconfigure the system when adding capacity.
LiFePO4 Chemistry and Cycle Life
LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) is a chemically stable lithium chemistry that does not produce thermal runaway under normal operating conditions. The SR48100H is rated for 6,000 or more charge cycles at 90% depth of discharge before capacity falls to 60% of its original value. Cycled once per day, this corresponds to approximately 16 years of service life. The battery is maintenance-free under normal residential operating conditions.
At -20°C the battery retains at least 60% of its room-temperature discharge capacity. At 0°C it retains at least 80%. This discharge temperature performance data is from the manufacturer's specification sheet.
How Customers Use This 48V Lithium Battery
A typical residential installation pairs 2 to 6 SR48100H units with a compatible hybrid inverter and a rooftop or ground-mount solar array. Solar energy generated during the day charges the server rack lithium battery bank. At night or during a grid outage, the inverter draws from the battery bank to supply essential household loads refrigerator, lighting, outlets, well pump, and heating fans. Many homeowners use this setup to reduce grid dependence and maintain power during outages without a generator.

CAN / RS485 Inverter Communication

The integrated BMS monitors each cell group and protects against overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, short circuit, and temperature extremes. Short circuit protection triggers automatic load cutoff. Cell balancing is handled internally.

Discharge to -20°C (-4°F)

Multiple Installation Configurations

High Peak Discharge Capability
100A continuous discharge, 119A for 5 minutes, and 200A for 15 seconds. The peak discharge capacity supports motor start loads and other momentary high-demand draws without triggering the BMS protection cutoff.
Low Self-Discharge Rate
Self-discharge rate is 3% or less per month and 15% or less per year in sleep or power-off mode. Suitable for seasonal or backup installations where the battery may sit unused for extended periods, provided it is stored above 50% state of charge.
